September 11, 2014 – GLOBE Performance Solutions organized a one-day workshop in March 2014 on Advancing Community Biogas Technologies. The main purpose of the workshop was to promote efforts under the US-Canada Clean EnergyDialogue(CED) to advance clean energy technologies and reduce greenhouse (GHG) emissions. The workshop served to:
– Encourage dialogue amongst Canadian and US stakeholders in industry, academia and government who have an interest in the development and application of community-based biogas technologies;
– Identify the technology performance expectations and verification needs of key stakeholders; and
– Identify barriers to the advancement and widespread deployment of community-based biogastechnologies, such as gaps in knowledge, insufficient research and development (R&D) investment, market acceptance, capital and operating costs, technology risk, etc.
The final report which summarizes participants’ inputs, specific industry recommendations and proposed actions has been completed for Environment Canada.
Stakeholders may obtain a copy of the final report by registering for the “Clean Energy Dialogue (CED)” online Stakeholder Forum. Please contact gps@globeperformance.com in order to register.
