Protocols & Procedures

Explore the standards, protocols, and procedures that guide GLOBE Performance Solutions’ independent technology verification.

General Verification Protocol

Prior to the publication of ISO 14034:2016, the Canadian ETV Program’s General Verification Protocol (GVP) served as the primary guidance document for all Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) processes and laid the foundation for the ISO standard.

While all verifications completed by GLOBE Performance Solutions now follow ISO 14034:2016, the GVP remains a valuable reference for developers seeking independent verification of their technology’s performance claims.

Created in March 2000 and substantially revised in February 2007, the GVP is used by Verification Entities to ensure that all verifications are conducted in a consistent, comprehensive, and rigorous manner.

General Testing Protocol

The testing process begins when the technology vendor submits a comprehensive application package. The Verification Organization (VO) reviews this package to ensure:

  • The application is complete
  • The testing agency is qualified to conduct the test program
  • Analytical laboratories are accredited for the required analyses
  • Sufficient technical information about the technology is provided
  • Credible test data is available, including laboratory samples and on-site process data

This ensures that all performance claims are independently verified with accuracy and credibility.
